Terms of Service

The following terms of service (“service terms”) contain information about payment, pricing, shipping, return, refund, and other matters related to the purchase and sale of items from the Sock World Hokitika online shop(www.autoknitter.com) hereinafter (“the website”). By purchasing goods from us, you are deemed to agree to these service terms without qualification. If you do not agree to be bound by these service terms, you must not purchase goods from us. We reserve the right to change these service terms at any time by notifying you of the amended service terms on the website. By continuing to purchase goods from us, you agree to be bound by the amended service terms.


We will supply goods to you on these terms only (as we may amend them from time to time). The only circumstance where any variation to these service terms will apply is where we have expressly agreed in writing to that variation or where we have modified service terms on the website. If there is any conflict with other terms of trade, the terms posted at the time of the transaction will take priority over any other terms of trade.
You must have a valid billing address and hold a valid credit card, or debit card to order any products from the website.

Refund/Return Policy

Choose carefully as we do not refund if you change your mind. If the goods are faulty we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act.  If your parcel is lost in the post, we will replace the item after full investigation with New Zealand Post and any other appropriate Postal Authority.  Our policy is that we do not issue refunds for faulty  or lost items, our policy is to happily replace them. 


Our current prices are set out on the website, but are subject to change and we may alter prices at any time by modifying the prices on our website. The price for goods is that stated on the website at the time when we accept any order, and are in New Zealand Dollars (NZD) unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing by us. Postage and packaging is calculated on the delivery address and total amount of each order.


When you purchase goods from us, you will be issued an online invoice. You will be required to pay such invoice immediately by credit card, or debit card in order to complete your order. You will not withhold payment or make any deductions from any amount you owe us under any circumstances whatsoever.

Product Availability 

We will make every effort to ensure that products appearing in and/or purchased by you from the website are available, but we cannot guarantee that all items will be in stock or immediately available when you submit your order. At such times we reserve the right to cancel any order, or arrange for later shipment. In the event of any cancelled order, payments that have been processed will be refunded as soon as practicable, but in any event within a reasonable timeframe.

Delivery and Risk of Loss

We ship via New Zealand Post. Any delivery times quoted are estimates only. Estimated time frame for delivery is about 3-7 days for New Zealand 10 to 14 days for Australia and 10 days to 6 weeks rest of the World. We will deliver the goods to the address you have provided, and risk in the goods shall pass to you upon such delivery.

Warranty on Sock Machines and Sock Machine Parts.

We warranty all parts against faulty workmanship and offer a  3 year guarantee on new sock machines. We will not pay postage for items returned under warranty. Items must be returned as soon as possible and the purchaser will be responsable for return postage of the warrantied items.
Warranty on Yarns or Knitwear
We do not provide any warranty on Yarns or Knitted products however we are happy to listen to any reasonable claims on a case by case basis and our decision will be final.


Personal information gathered during the ordering process will be used only to facilitate your order, and will not be used for marketing or passed on to any third party. Mailing list subscriptions will be used only for our on-line mailing list, and will not constitute creation of an account with us, or be passed on to any third party for any reason.
